Is there any type of biodegradable litter pan for rabbits that can be chewed?
I've had to take my rabbit (1 year old) to the vet about two or three times because she has been having stomach and bladder problems. The first time, they were able to fix it, but I recently had to take her back because she was having similar problems. I think her plastic litter pan may be the problem. There are large chunks out of it and the missing pieces aren't in her cage, so I think she digested it. I tried giving her a shoebox with her Carefresh litter in it, but she tore it up in a matter of minutes. I don't want to see her feeling bad and I also don't want it to cause permanent damage in her stomach. Do you know of any place that might sell a recyclable potty for rabbit that is safe to chew, but won't be torn apart easily? Thanks in advance!

Anything that's safe for her to chew and biodegradable won't hold in the urine. You could try an old metal baking pan. She shouldn't be able to chew that.
The size and arrangement of her pan could also be encouraging the chewing. You could try using a much larger plastic pan and top the litter with hay. This often discourages the pan chewing too. The smaller pans tend to get chewed more because the edge is right there in bunny's face when she's going potty. The hay will be a welcome diversion.

You could try a metal pan. You might have to go to a hardware store to find something suitable, but there may be something online you can order. It won't be chewable and you can still wash it and use it. There are also wood boxes you can buy that hold a plastic litter box and could have a rim so the rabbits can't get at the edge of the box to chew.

Actually there are! You can either use a shallow cardboard box, or purchase them online. Look on amazon for cardboard litter boxes. Best of luck!
