Why do people delete and report your correct answers on YA?

Some geek asked on the Law Enforcement questions, how do I get away with not paying a parking ticket - I correctly answered "no you cannot" - I then was hit with a 10 point deduction for an abusive answer.

Jeez he asked a closed question so got a closed answer.

So come on why do people act like jerks behind their computers and report answers if it is not the answer the are looking for!

Update:

@Rikki

How can you answer a question like that, the answer is you cannot avoid paying it wasn't a supermarket car park offence it was issued by a Traffic Officer, so you cannot get out of paying it unless you ignore it and then get a warrant taken out against you for failing to pay. UK BTW

Update 2:

    I agree with Riki and Bingalee about it being technically a non-answer, but generally answers to that effect don't get reported if they're phrased politely.

    Did you actually just answer "no you cannot"?

    A quick Google finds a lot of your answers on legal questions like this contain snarky commentary on the asker, sometimes outright insults. That might well be the reason for the report and deletion. Remember the guideline:

    i do no longer think of so - have seen many incorrect solutions, even some that have been chosen as terrific answer. people who anticipate that solutions are ultimate accomplish that at their own possibility. yet, i might advise letting somebody understand (the two Yahoo or the asker) whilst an answer would desire to pose a hazard.

    Appeal your violation and get back your credibility

    Some people just can't accept the truth, so delete their question

    when they don't get the answers that THEY want

    Riki is 100% correct, you did not answer the Q and the sooner you learn how to answer or leave well enough alone the surer you are to keep your account from being suspended.Listen to what top contributors like Riki tell you and you will stay on YA's good side.

    The same thing happen to me. They are looking to feel validated, not the correct answer. People are totally abusing this site. They report people because they don't like where they are from or they don't like their beliefs or whatever, it doesn't always have to do with the answer you gave to their question.

    EDIT: By the way appealing doesn't always work. Yahoo assumes that because you've been reported so many times (unjustly I might add) that the person or persons who reported you were in the right.

    They're jealous of our advanced knowledge. You see, you and I are cyborgs, bent on world domination. You just haven't realized your true powers yet. We can shoot lasers out of our freakin eyes, man! We are smarter, faster, stronger. You have not realized your true potential yet, mrgoole, but you will...

    No, your answer was a violation. You didn't attempt to answer the question as asked so violation not following the question and answer format.
