slope = -2, passing through (-2,-1/4)
point-slope form is :
(y - y1) = m(x - x1)
y - (-1/4) = - 2(x - (-2))
I believe that is the point-slope form of the line.
Proceeding to transform that to the slope-intercept form,
y + (1/4) = - 2(x + 2)
y + (1/4) = - 2x - 4
y = - 2x - 4 - (1/4)
y = - 2x - (16/4) - (1/4) ................... [ 4 = (16/4) ]
y = - 2x - (17/4)
