Any help getting an older program (Printmaster) to work with Windows 7?

Been using using Printmaster Gold Suite 4.03.41 forever. Recently go new Win 7 Pro Dell computer, hook up to my original HP Officejet 6500A Plus.

Running Printmaster in XP mode. Installed fine, and am able to work within the program, but when I go to print something it says, "The selected printer does not support features needed by Printmaster Gold."

But it's the same printer I used before with my XP computer. Any suggestions??

Update:

Ended up finding the answer myself. When you go into XP mode there are some dropdown tabs at the top. Click on USB tab and ATTACH DEVICE. The pc then saw that there was a printer attached, and then i installed the drivers from the disc that came with the printer.

After using my Printmaster program in XP mode, you must then again click on the USB tab and release the printer, so that when you go back to Win7 you can use your printer.

try using it in compatibility mode. right click the software icon, go to compatibility tab and run the program in compatibility mode for windows xp. also try to update drivers.
