  • Anyone else have a new chainsaw that leaks?

Just bought a new Jonsered 2255 from Tractor Supply about 2 months ago, it was on sale. When I finally took it out of the box about a month later, it started up great.

I cut a few pieces from a log, just to try it out. Put it back in the garage and a couple weeks later, went to get it and there's a pool of oil underneath. Tried opening the cap, just to be sure there was no pressure built up. After a couple days, more oil.

I contacted the manufacturer and they make it sound like it's normal for this to happen, and that you're supposed to store the machine empty.

So, am I just being paranoid.

  • Why can't I jumpstart my Caravan?

I have a 96' Caravan with a weak battery. It's been weak for awhile. I only take it out once a month for a drive, and I usually jumpstart it, occasionally put it on the charger, though.

Anyway, this time I had it on the charger and it still wouldn't start the van, so I tried jumpstarting, and barely got it started and it stalled right away. It started raining so I gave up for the moment.

Today, I went out with the cables. As soon as I attached the cables to the caravan I could hear that my other vehicle was under load, and then I saw some smoke coming from the green wire coming from the power distribution box from the caravan. I pulled the cables off right away. I'm afraid I might I fried something.

I've been googling around and heard that completely dead batteries can sometimes pull to many amps, but don't know much about electrical systems. Anyone got any info? Would be much appreciated.

  • I reversed polarity when trying to jumpstart my Suzuki Ozark 250 4 wheeler, did i totally fry it?

I took the battery out after the mishap and tried jumpstarting it again, and nothing. The green neutral light isn't even on anymore. I checked the two 20 amp fuses by the relay switch, and they both look good.

Could the wires have fried. There was a spark on the black terminal. Is there any other way to jumpstart than from the battery cables?

    Thanks for any info.

  • Did finish killing my battery or do something worse?

The battery in my four wheeler is really weak. You get one try and then if it didn't start you have to jump it.

So....I was gonna jump start it with my van. I didn't realize I hand the cable on the van backwards (i know...stupid). When I put the cables onto the 4wheeler battery, I almost immediately heard a sound like the battery boiling and pulled them off.

Before I did this the green power light would come on, and now I get no light. Does that just mean my battery is totally fried now, or did I do something even worse.

The van starts up fine. I tried pull starting my 4wheeler and when i do, i see the green light flicker, but I'm not quite strong enough to actually get it started that way.

Anyway, I'm hoping I just need a new battery.

    Thanks for any info.

  • Why is some of the water being sucked out of my upstairs toilet, when I flush my basement toilet?

I've had a Bur Cam Flush System for over 7 years and never had any issue with it. Just recently though the ejector pump died and I had to replace it. So, I purchased the exact same one from Bur Cam.

After replacing it, when it kicks on it seems like it runs a little longer than my old pump, and every time it kicks on it sucks a half the water out of my upstairs toilet. I don't understand why this is happening. What's the difference from my old pump, they are supposed to be the same pump? Anyone have this problem, if so how did you correct it???? Thanks, for any info.

  • Anyone know how to get the SD card to work on an eMachine W4605 laptop?

I have a Walmart special. It says eMachines model M622-UK8X, but on the support site there is no such thing. After googling, I learned this is actually a model W4605/4620.

I recently wiped the computer and reinstalled XP home sp3 and then went to the support site and download every driver they have for it. Everything looks good in the device manager, but the SD card reader does not work. It does NOT show up under "my computer", but in the device manager SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller is listed and it says it is working properly.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling it and it did nothing to help. Any ideas????

  • Is the overload spring on the rear brakes a crucial part?

I have a 95' Caravan LE with 15" wheels. The rear brakes were squealing when braking, especially when doing a lot of stopping and going.

Anyway, I pulled one of the drums off and the overload spring (aka adjuster cable i think) was busted or rusted off, and just fell out when I removed the drum.

Is this a crucial part, could it be causing the squealing? The brake shoes themselves still have some pad left on them. Should I just throw the drum back on and see how it sounds? Or is this a part that needs to be there. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • How to install toggle for my wipers?

I have a 1996 Grand Caravan that I would like to bypass the BCM and install a toggle switch to get my wipers working.

I found an old web forum where i guy said he installed a jumper wire with a simple toggle to control the wiper on/off relay (which is normally controlled by the BCM. How do you do that?

  • Does anyone know why my wipers would stop working on my 96' Caravan?

They still work if you push the washer button (fluid comes out, and wipers swipe twice). Intermittent, low, and hi, do not work at all.

I tried replacing the hi/lo wiper relay, which didn't help and I also tried replacing front wiper relay, which didn't help, either.

Anyone else had that problem? Any advice? Thanks.

  • Easiest way to get at power steering pump to remove lines?

I have a 97 Caravan with a 3.3. My high pressure hose is leaking, so I'd like to replace the return line, too, at the same time.

What's the easiest route for unbolting both lines from the pump? Does it have to be up on a hoist? All I have are ramps. Thanks for any input.

  • Can you name that noise?

I have a 95' Caravan 3.3. Just started making loud growling noise from under the hood. I only notice it if I'm going down the highway and let up on the gas. As soon as I give a little gas again the noise goes away. If I let up on the gas it comes right back.

If I let up on the gas and coast the sound will persist until I get below around 30mph. Although maybe I'm just slow enough where it's not as loud anymore and I can't hear it. Who knows.

Anyway, any guesses on what I should check first. Other than the noise it seems to be running fine.

  • Can anyone tell me why my Uniden cordless phone base is flashing 8, then 88?

It's a Uniden Dect 6.0 model D1680. I just went to radio shack and got a new battery for it. I put the new battery in and left it in the base overnight. The handset says Welcome Please Wait, but if I pick it up and try to press any buttons nothing happens, and the base is flashing 8, then 88. None of the buttons on the base to anything either.

I tried unplugging everything ( battery in handset, power and phone line from the base), but had no effect.

Does anyone know what to do? Thanks.

  • Anyone else having trouble watching shows on PutLocker?

I've been watching shows and movies on PutLocker for over a year and the past couple of months anytime I try to watch anything, the show/movie will stop playing, even though it's buffered way ahead. I try skipping forward, doesn't work. I try starting the show over and it will just stop in the same place. I've tried watching a few different shows now, on different days, and this keeps happening.

Anyone else having that problem? And is there something I can do or is it on their end? Thanks.

  • Why isn't my hard drive detected anymore?

I have a Dell Dimension E510. The hard drive is no longer being detected. I took the hard drive out and put it in an external box and plugged it in via USB to a different computer and it is recognized and am able to get my documents off of it.

I don't understand why it works externally and not while in my pc?

  • AT&T's Netopia Motoraola gateway vs. 2Wire 2701hg-b gateway.?

I currently have the 2Wire gateway, it works ok, but when I try to stream live video it's always choppy and lags. Would the Netopia be any better?

I brought my laptop to my brothers house, he also has att dsl. His speed is slower than mine, but he uses his own Belkin wireless router and I can stream video just fine at his house. So I'm thinking that the 2wire gateway just aren't that good. I even talked to att, and they gave me some settings to tweak the 2wire with and it still sucks.

    Any advice or thoughts. Thanks.

  • Why can I stream live video just fine thru ethernet connection, but not wirelessly?

I have a Lenovo dual core desktop that's connected via ethernet cable to my AT&T 2Wire Gateway. I can stream live video just fine with it. When I try streaming with my IBM Thinkpad which is also dual core the stream freezes every few seconds, when I connected it with an ethernet cable it streamed just fine.

Are 2Wire wireless gateways just junk or is there something wrong with my laptop?

  • Why won't my keyboard work?

I have a Dell Dimension E520. Every couple months my keyboard would stop working, but if I just switch usb ports it would work again.

Well, every couple months turned to every couple of weeks, then every couple days. Pretty soon it was every couple of hours and now it won't work at all. I can't even get into the BIOS.

Yes, I have tried other keyboards. The mouse continues to work, but now matter how many different keyboards I've tried, the keyboard just won't work. I am safe to assume there's something faulty with the system board? Anyone else with this problem?
