Your thoughts on "The Last of Us"?

I finished the game The Last of Us and I absolutely loved it. Just curious about other peoples opinions on the game.

Update:

To my response for people who don't like the "Super Sense" thing you can turn that off in the options menu, it's real easy and that's what I did. I give it a 10/10 :)

    Definitely 9/10

Game is solid, but the A.I really drags it down sometimes.

    THE GOOD:

You've probably heard a lot of the things i'd say, so i'm going to just talk about some high-points

In a moment of A.I. brilliance, at the very last enemy encounter these two guards were having a conversation. I died in that encounter the most of any in the entire game and heard it many times, thus I ignored that conversation entirely. I snuck up on the guy that was BEHIND and a ways away from the other guy in the conversation while he was in the middle of a sentence. As soon as I started choking him and he abruptly stopped talking, the other enemy knew something was up and TURNED AROUND and I got caught. I was shocked! Mostly because i'd done it before in a different section and the hunters didn't seem to notice, but it was still a WOW moment for me.

That flooded hotel when your starting the generator? That area where the Stalkers are introduced proper (if they were in the game before that, I am extremely disappointed that they weren't stalkin')? When I first pulled on the generator and that Stalker came out of nowhere (a sorepoint I have since apparently it was spawned instead of just being sneaky) it was an effective jump-scare. Then when I actually got it started and I heard the enemy, I wasn't too worried. THEN when that Bloater came out of nowhere, only the second you ever see, in the room with me I was terrified and ran like heck. Unfortunately, I didn't explore first since I thought the generator would just turn on the lights or drain the water or something and thus ran into a door that was obviously the one we were meant to take but was locked. When I died (PANIC) I searched the area first and found the keycard. What followed was the most tense chase i'd ever experienced, desperately shot-gunning the enemies that were running against me on my way to that door, and the panic of pressing that button and sliding that card when I knew and could HEAR that Bloater and those other infected closing in was SO intense. Honestly the most tense i've ever been in a game by far. When he barred that door, I took a bit to calm down and noticed my accelerated heart rate and my harder breathing. THAT WAS GREAT!

The final encounter with enemies was worthy of a end game boss fight so long as you were being stealthy and not (more on this later) shootin' it up with your new AR. I had to restart so many times because I refused to get caught and wanted to sneak through undetected. It was the only encounter where I had to use a bottle/brick (turned out that was the key) AND the only where I didn't take out all the enemies in the area. I got to the doors out and there were two guys there (that I planned to take out somehow since they would see me if I went for anyone ahead of them) that managed to catch me so I just cut my losses and ran for the door. A bit odd that with all the time Joel takes to push that thing in front of the door that they couldn't have just opened it, but I was to thrilled with getting through it too bother with at the time.

The ending. Oddly enough, three days after beating it I had a stray thought. That thought led to me being restless in bed at 4 O'Clock in the morning and I came to a conclusion: I would sacrifice the one most woven into my heart, the one that i've seen grow from a little thing, the one that i've taken pride in the accomplishments of, for the world. I hate myself for this. Says something when a game makes me realize something like that. It's a first.

    THE BAD:

Having a companion RUNNING will-nilly around patrolling enemies (to get to the piece of cover your occupying or to stay in close proximity to you) and them somehow NOT NOTICING is an immersion beaker. A few times I was really into a scene and was maneuvering around and was brought out of my plotting of my next steps when Ellie wizzed around in front of the guy and he just kept walking straight-on like it was a gust of wind.

Weird thing is, apparently if your companion TOUCHES the enemy they get spotted. A few times Ellie touched the guy getting ready to cross my path and got us caught.

The enemy A.I. makes questionable decisions sometimes. If you walk into an area and notice three of your comrades dead on the ground in the exact same spot do you really need to walk up to it, investigate it for three seconds, and then decide it is a good idea to say something about it to all your other buddies in the area?

Finally, the final area felt like it was trying to force itself to be a shooting section. I couldn't help but notice (and this was on hard) that almost every enemy I choke-holded dropped A LOT of AR ammo. I mean, it was ranging from half a mag to an entire one. If your accurate at all, it doesn't take that many rounds to down someone. Made it way too easy if you actually decide to go it a shmuper.
