Is East Boston, MA safe and quiet?

I am interested in buying a home in the Orient Heights area by the beach. Is this a safe neighborhood? How is the noise level from Logan Airport? I am already careful and try to pay attention to my surrounding area. I really haven't found any real good information on the noise level. Will the place rattle and wake me up from planes taking off or landing? Will the sound be unbearable? the local I did ask was not helpful.

    "Life" is absurd. Orient Heights is quite a safe neighborhood. As for plane noise one gets used to it, and it is far less than before the new quieter jet engines came into being about 30 - 40 myears ago.

    East Boston and Winthrop are directly under the Short Final glide path into Logan international Airport and Maverick Square is a de-militarized zone, so no, not so much quiet and safe.

    i am sure someone will post there is a safe neighborhood/area in east boston. not really

    try beachmont near revere as a last resort if you definitely have to live in that area.

    Otherwise , avoid that entire area north of the callahan tunnel

    Yes, it's quiet because the planes go over Revere.
