Here's another question for you? Where in the bible does it say that the world is only 10 000 years old? What, because Christians assume that's the truth of scripture, then it is? Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, period! That is a. Now, when was the beginning? If God is eternal, then beginning could've been billions of years before genesis 1:2. That verse speaks of a ruined creation, that was being rebuilt. Earth was not! Created in genesis verse 2 as too many assume and preach. The bible gives no timeline of its creation, but in genesis 1:2 "and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep". How could a newly created planet in Genesis 1:1 be in such a bad shape in Genesis 1:2. Something happened in between the two verse that cause God to destroy that precious creation. Dinosaur were alive at one point and even if science is right with their carbon dating, that does not contradict the bible. People just read and misinterpret it, or try to give an answer when they just don't know.

As you read Genesis chapter 1, from verse 3 onward, you will see that it is divided into six creative “days.” Some claim that these were literal 24-hour days, meaning that the entire universe and life on earth were created in less than a week! However, you can easily discover that the Bible does not teach that. The book of Genesis was written in Hebrew. In that language, “day” refers to a period of time. It can be either a lengthy one or a literal day of 24 hours. Even in Genesis all six “days” are spoken of collectively as one lengthy period—‘the day in which Jehovah made earth and heaven.’ (Genesis 2:4; compare 2 Peter 3:8.) The fact is, the Bible reveals that the creative “days,” or ages, encompass thousands of years.

A person can see this from what the Bible says about the seventh “day.” The record of each of the first six “days” ends saying, ‘and there came to be evening and morning, a first day,’ and so on. Yet, you will not find that comment after the record of the seventh “day.” And in the first century C.E., some 4,000 years downstream in history, the Bible referred to the seventh rest “day” as still continuing. (Hebrews 4:4-6) So the seventh “day” was a period spanning thousands of years, and we can logically conclude the same about the first six “days.

Why did He wait so long...? Obviously you're not the one in your household who has the best part of their day taken up with chores, mister. Tidying up after creating a Universe isn't a five minute job. I'm surprised that He found the time to sit down and have some "Me" time, and devote His attention to His hobby - Creating. Really, you young people... sometimes I think you have no idea what goes on around this Universe while you're whiling away the hours with your internet friends... Now lift your feet up, I have to vacuum the floor.

Oh how feeble and limited our minds are.

. . . When there isn't a beginning or an end, then a question such as yours makes absolutely no sense.

Example: after an unbeliever has been tormented in hell for a billion years - he will have no less time to yet be tormented.

He was busy creating other worlds? Apart from that, this Earth age is only 10'000 years old. Earth itself is much older than that.

he didn't wait long to create it

the universe and the earth were created at the same time

the universe is not as old as science claims

God is eternal (outside of time), so time to God is immaterial

Because He didn't want to have to see people like you.
