Cub Cadet LTX1042 front wheel not steering - how to fix?

I was riding along and suddenly when trying to turn the front left wheel would not. Now, when trying to go forward the wheel will just turn and stick. Seems as though the wheel has detached itself from the steering mechanism. I have done some work on this cub - removed the deck and replaced blades - but never anything of this nature. Does anyone know what would be wrong or have an idea of what to look at? I don't want to start tinkering w/o a bit of guidance

Look under there and see what has happened. Likely the steering rod is broken or detached. Not hard to troubleshoot and fix.

Start on page 23 of the manual to get some more ideas and good luck to you. Them things are easy to wok on:

do no longer attempt to change a wheel in any respect. There are shops which could mount and stability for you for an extremely low cost. the hassle of attempting to strive against a wheel on and stale isn't well worth it with the couple of greenbacks you may desire to pay. The vibrating could be led to via off stability wheels or undesirable inner tie rods. Jack the automobile up, wheels dealing with forward, ebrake on. grab the front wheel at 9 and 3 o clock. Push it section to section from 3 to 9 and spot if there is any play. There could be very minimum play if any. verify the tie rod (guidance linkage) and spot if it extremely is moving approximately. Repeat for the different front tire. If any pass somewhat some millimeters then it somewhat is advisable to get them replaced.
