What does Slender Man actually do?

What I know about the undeniably awesome entity is that he is really tall, slender has black tentacles and appears to stalk his victims. In every "Photograph" of Slender Man he is usually shown stalking a victim (usually the camera is focused on, Children) and whoever encounters him disappears. My question is what does he actually do to his victims? Does he kill them, Does he make them his proxies or does he take them into a world of darkness? I like his presence but I would really appreciate some solid backstory.

    FIRSTLY: He's just a story. The man responsible confessed to his photoshop

    class project.

    But the stories say, the more we talk about him, the more real he grows.

    Because anybody can make up a story about him, it's all supposed to be true.

    He tears adults to shreds, makes it look like horrible accident.

    He takes children to some other dimension. Are they dead there? Who knows.

    They keep adding and changing the Slendy Mythos.

    Some say He is an Evolved form of the Shadow Men that Native Americans have

    feared for centuries.
