Are Ancient Astronaut Theorists worse than Fundamental Christians?

No. there is plenty of really convincing evidence for ancient aliens.
“How can one dismiss the obvious references to aircraft and radiation on Mount Sinai, when there is an equally amazing description of an advanced communications device, operated by a powerful electrical system? It is difficult to comprehend how detailed technological descriptions such as these could have been dreamt up by the Israelites.
“On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast... Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. And the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain... To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.”
After one of his meetings with the Lord on Mount Sinai, Moses returns to the Israelites with a “radiant face’’ which frightens them.” How did this happen? A clue lies in Exodus 33:21-23: Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me, where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”
The tale is accompanied by explicit instructions from Yahweh to Moses, warning of the potential danger to anyone coming up on the mountain. There is another intriguing aspect of the Exodus which cannot be ignored, and that is the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord tells Moses: “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.”
There then follow clear and explicit instructions. The cover for the Ark is to have two “cherubim”, made out of hardened gold, one at each end of the cover, with their wings extended towards each other: “There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.”
Why is it necessary to “meet” at an appointed time in this way? The Lord explains that he cannot accompany the Israelites to the promised land in person;” instead he will use the Ark to communicate his commands. Surely this is twentieth century technology, there must be some mistake! But we also read that the Ark must be handled by priests equipped with “sacred garments” and with a “shielding curtain”,” and when the proper instructions were not followed, the effects were potentially fatal.’”
Is it thus a coincidence that the chest of the Ark was to be made with gold inside and outside, representing two electricity-conducting surfaces, insulated by wood between? Similarly, was it a coincidence that it had to be moved using wooden staffs which would insulate those who carried it? To find such references in the Book of Exodus, written around 2,500 years ago, describing events a thousand years earlier, staggers the imagination.”

Ancient Alien theorists are funnier than Christians.
I don't really consider one worse than the other. Both have a world view, and assume ALL evidence fits into their world view and reject any evidence that seems to contradict their views.

I would say no...not worse..much better because at least they try to make sense...the jesus story doesn't even try to make sense...how can anyone be saved simply because some poor guy was crucified? it makes no sense on any level. And also he's an omnipotent god? adding to the absurdity.
The ancient astronaut people can at least point to stuff that kinda sounds reasonable when you first hear it, perhaps...but if you investigate the actual information that is when you know its rubbish. People should honestly know chistianity is crazy by simply hearing a plot summary.

Nope, not at all.
They might be a little silly sometimes, but at least they are looking for answers, not claiming they have all the answers and won't share like Christians.
They also do not cast you out, or torture you to death for not believing.
Even if we consider that they are dead wrong, they are way ahead of Christians of any stripe. At least they look for reality.

No, their beliefs don't contradict all of science.
They do have a similar approach to doing research or collecting evidence, however. That is "here's the conclusion, let's collect all the evidence that we can possibly misconstrue to support our pre-determined conclusion and dismiss any that contradicts it".

Although, they may be demented, they are at least basing their beliefs on evidence.
I might take issues with the way that they process that evidence, but they are still light-years ahead of christians.

They are just as delusional, but people in power -- including those with nuclear weapons -- take religion seriously.
