Particle Containing 4 Quarks Is Confirmed For The First Time, Called: Zc(3900). What does this finding do ...?

to the Standard Model of Particle Physics? Will they have to add a forth family of particles, and how would that affect what they already know?

This doesn't affect the standard model if the particle is made up of quarks. The quarks are still fundamental, it just means they can exist in more combinations that previously known.

I doubt they would need a fourth family, you just make combinations of 4 of the quarks we already know about. But a real answer will be some time in coming.
