  • Particle Containing 4 Quarks Is Confirmed For The First Time, Called: Zc(3900). What does this finding do ...?

to the Standard Model of Particle Physics? Will they have to add a forth family of particles, and how would that affect what they already know?

  • What do you do when someone is trying to do you harm even to the point of murder, with ...?

some kind of advanced directive energy technology, and the local police know all about it but won't life a finger to investigate or try to prevent it. I am setting here right now, this minute, before my computer and they are literally 'frying' and smoking' me. I firmly believe that they are going to either mess up my body badly or just kill me out-right. The technology they are using is not of any conventional nature. The effects of this technology upon the human body and on other material objects in the local vicinity is absolutely remarkable. This exotic energy can literally weaken or kill the nerves and tissues inside the body; it can actually be made to raise or lower the body's core temperature making the victim experience severe chills or high fever. Right now, they are zapping me very strongly, and my body is definitely feeling the effects. The chair that I am setting in is just vibrating with energy. I can take a simple stethoscope and place the "head" part flat on one of the chair arm rests, and both feel and hear the energy striking my chair. Whoever those people are and whatever technology they are using, they mean business. This is not a hoax or joke. It is the "real-deal".

I'm just asking, in order so that someone will know what is taking place.

    Many thanks in advance

  • What kind of energy radiation in large dose affects the human body in just this way ...?

it reddens the skin slightly at the knees and along the legs, causing the outer skin to compress inward toward the underlying connective tissue, making the blood veins and vesicles to dilate and lie very close to the surface of the skin itself. Would high levels of Ultraviolet rays or X-rays have that affect on living tissues?

  • If magnetic monopoles actually existed and could be isolated, would we be able to ...?

build a magnetic counter part to electronic circuits? If monopoles did exist, do you think it would be possible to use them to create a different type of communications and perhaps even transportation systems? I wonder what a monopole circuit would look like when compared to an electrical circuit.

  • Special Relativity, Time, and the speed of light ...?

If time stands still at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second in a vacuum), how can light photons have any relatively motion with respect to one another? No time, no movement. Or is it that at the speed of light, photon motion (constant speed) is completely independent of time? But then, if space and time continuously adjust themselves in order to maintain a constant speed of light, space and time must need a certain finite amount of time in order to make the necessary corrections for light speed.

What does it mean, time stands still? Does that mean, t = 0 or t = 1?

  • Does the Universe have a wave function associated with it?

If it does, what would this wave function look like and what might it tell us, if anything, about how the Universe works?

It is my understanding that at the quantum level, particles have their own wave function or probability function. As structural size increases, the wave function decreases. The Universe started off at the big bang as an infinitesimal small point and then inflated or expanded rapidly. There must have been some time span along the expansion where the Universe did have a wave function, a probability function.

  • Before the formation of the Moon, I wonder if ...?

Earth was in its current goldilocks habitable zone around the Sun? I wonder if the Impact from whatever object hit the earth that resulted in the eventual formation of the Moon, changed the earth's original orbit in relations to the Sun? I wonder if there's any way of knowing this?

Had the Mars like object not struck the earth when it did, the Moon would not have formed and life on earth probably wouldn't have occurred, or if it did it would have evolved along a very different path than what we currently see.

  • I am looking for a certain device that is small enough to fit comfortably in my shirt pocket, that can ...?

record up to 2 or more hours of YouTube 10 minute videos; record at least 1 hour of audio (with date/time stamp). The device should have at least a 2 inch screen for displaying videos. It should have at least an 8 MP digital camera. It should be able to upload / download YouTube videos directly from the Internet or through a desktop computer. The device should have both audio/video input and output jacks, and battery pack or AC adapter. Ideally, the device should cost less than $100.00.

    Any ideas?

  • What are the chances of death due to disease or from the inoculation ... a probability question?

There is a 1 in 200 chance of death due to the inoculation alone

There is a 1 in 7 chance of death from contracting the disease.

What are the odds of surviving the disease without the inoculation, and what are the odds of surviving with the inoculation?

    ----------------------------

I'm not sure how to set this problem up, but here's what I have:

    Order of events matters

    Death due to inoculation

    1 in 200

    ---------------------

    Surving due to inoculation

    1 - (1 in 200)

    ---------------------

    Death due to disease

    1 in 7

    Surviving the disease

    1 - (1 in 7)

    ------------------

    I'm using: (n / r) = n! / ((n-r)! r!) = (200 / 1) = 200! / ((200-1)! 1!) = 200 x 199 / (199 x 1) = 200 / 1 = 200

    -------------------

    (n / r) = (7 / 1) = 7! / ((7 - 1)! 1!) = 7 x 6 / (6 x 1) = 7 / 1 = 7

    -------------------

What is the total probability of death no matter what action you take or don't take?

This seems like it would be a combination of death by inoculation and death by disease:

    ( 200 / 1) x (7 / 1) = 1,400 / 1 = 1,400

Thus, if you contracted the disease and also took the inoculation, you would have a 1 in 1,400 chance of dying anyway.

Does that seem reasonable? Or, am I on the wrong track?

  • The beginning of the Universe was in a state of extreme low entropy, but what exactly does that mean?

In how many ways can the Universe be in a low entropy state? What exactly was in a state of low entropy? Was it the four forces of nature before decoupling? Was it some period after decoupling as the Universe inflated? Or, did the Universe get its low entropy start because of 'some' immediate surroundings? Suppose that there were something outside the singularity.

"The highest-entropy state is one in which the temperature is uniformly the same throughout."

What if the hot big bang inflation inflated into an infinite environment that was already at absolute zero 'everywhere'? If the Universe emerged at a temperature of 1.0 x 10^15 K, inflating out into an infinite environment that was already at absolute zero, that would be a pretty extreme temperature differential. From the perspective of the tiny but very hot singularity, it would have found itself in a very low entropy state.

    Does that sound reasonable?

  • I need to find Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, service pack-1 on CD ...?

I have a HP pavilian XT963 computer that I recently had to upload the operating system, OS, and I lost data and the original service packs. I have tried to download SP-1 from off the Internet but keep getting a drop down that says: the service provider web site isn't responding. I have tried a number of different sources but get the same results. I need to get a CD with XP SP-1 on it that I can use locally. Can anyone point me in the right direction for obtaining this CD?

Additional note: I have XP SP-3 on CD, but I can't use it until I have SP-1 installed on my computer.

    Thanks

  • I have a situation and need an answer right away ...?

I'm in the process of downloading a service pack-1a for my 1.2 GHz Windows XP computer. I have been in the process of downloading this thing since 11:30 AM this morning and the screen says that it is still downloading (cursor and hour-glass). However, the load bar hasn't moved all day. I don't know if anything is actually happening or not. If it's downloading and I interrupt it, that might damage my computer. Does anyone have any idea how long, on average, it takes to download a Window's service pack-1a for a XP-home version computer?

  • ACER ASPIRE - T690 computer ... purchased about 5 years ago. It has a problem ...?

Its always been heat sensitive especially during the summer months. The blower fan for the microprocessor and the circulation fan would come on multiple times a day during the summer months making a dreadful noise. I even had to take one panel off the case and place a table fan pointing at the internal circuity. This solved the problem for a while. About a year ago, whatever was going bad, went bad. Now, when I power the computer up, all it does is produce a tone of about 800 Hz. Beyond that, the computer doesn't work at all. I'm trying to isolate the problem. I suspect that it is a power supply component problem. Here's why. When I turn the computer on, the CPU fan and the circulation fan both turn on once and stop, then a moment or two later both fans will kick in and run. At exactly the same time, there is this loud tone noise of about 800 Hz that happens. I pulled a plug near the CPU fan with 2 yellow wires and 2 black wires from the motherboard and the tone noise goes away, and both fans speed up significantly. The DC voltage on the two yellow wires is 11.2 volt when the fans are running, and exactly 12.0 volts when there is no load on the yellow wires. Nothing else happens. Power supply voltages read + 5v, + 12v, and + 3.3v. I can't tell is the tone noise is coming out of the power supply (which I highly suspect -- it being a switching P.S.) or from some where else on the motherboard.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this kind of problem before or has any ideas about it, like where the tone might be coming from or additiona measurements orl tests I might can run?

I have test equipment like DVM, oscilloscope, function generator, and frequency counter.

    Many thanks in advance.

  • A question about RF pulsed carrier gated switching ...?

If a transmitter is operating at a RF carrier frequency of 7 MHz and is gate pulsed (turn On and Off) at the clock rate of say 1 GHz, what frequency would the RF output carrier be considered, 7 MHz or 1 GHz?

7 MHz RF carrier turned on and off at a clock rate of 1 GHz. Is the output RF carrier considered still 7 MHz or would it be 1 GHz?

    Is that scenario even possible?

  • Photon annihilation energy and particle characteristics at the speed of light ...?

We know that the photon is its own matter-antimatter (electron - positron) pair. Any thoughts on what might happen if it were actually possible to regulate the rate of electron - position annihilation, in a similar fashion as to how critical mass is regulated in a nuclear fusion reaction? By carefully controlling fusion in nuclear reactions, useful energy is created. By analogy, if electron - positron annihilation could be controlled in a similar fashion, might the photon be made to slow down and take on the characteristics of either the electron or the positron (or some combination of both), including their charge and spin? What I am talking about is a "controlled" electron-positron annihilation that might give the photon new heavier particle characteristics.
