A question about RF pulsed carrier gated switching ...?

If a transmitter is operating at a RF carrier frequency of 7 MHz and is gate pulsed (turn On and Off) at the clock rate of say 1 GHz, what frequency would the RF output carrier be considered, 7 MHz or 1 GHz?

7 MHz RF carrier turned on and off at a clock rate of 1 GHz. Is the output RF carrier considered still 7 MHz or would it be 1 GHz?

Is that scenario even possible?

At the RF output of the above system, would I use a 42 meter (7 MHz) long wave antenna or should it be a (1 GHz) microwave dish?

    Certainly possible. You would have a 7 MHz sine wave chopped into segments. 7 MHz is a period of 143 nS. 1 GHz is a period of 1 nS, so the sine wave would be chopped into 143 tiny segments.

    Basically it's a 1 GHz carrier modulated by 7 MHz.

    Seems you did not know much about transmitter circuit. Carrier frequency is always much higher than the modulation frequency. 1GHz is never able to modulate 0.007GHz carrier. Therefore, the answer is IMPOSSIBLE.
