If it were apostates during Babylon's siege who said Peace and apostates during Rome's?

siege who said "Peace and Security" should it not be apostates who will say "Peace and security" today (Jeremiah 8:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:3; 2 Thessalonians 2:3)?
