What is the future of Green Politics UK?

The planet as our life support system comes first. Secondary but very important problem is 'social justice' (not the bowdlerised version promoted by some Tories in an attempt to take out the sting). Logically the Green Party should now be on the up.

The greens have a few stupid stances on property, health, energy and there is the general willingness to keep voting in neo-liberal parties that simply repeat the lie of there beng no alternative. Given te gains made my UKIP and the reports that many young people would vote for the tories, The Greens are going to struggle.

The Green Party is is going to struggle because they are a very socialist party and Labour Demonstrated that extreme socialism is as unsuccessful as extreme conservatism in terms of economic and political improvement. This is why they centralised for the 1997 election. Very few people in the UK put the environment high up on the list of most pressing concerns, most people believe that the economy and immigration are far more important issues.

The Greens are too right wing and rely too heavily upon the bourgeois Parliament. The Green Party in Germany collapsed back in the '80's because they weren't radical enough.

The Green movement gained prominence precisely because of their use of direct action. They have now dumped those tactics because they have been taken over by conservative leaders.

Incidentally, no socialism means no planet...forget the Greens. If you want to save the planet then you must oppose big business and the governments that protect them!

Interesting to see Green Party is now top of the political agenda and members now exceed UKIP and LibDems

With smaller political parties in this country, beyond the surface of an escape from the homogeneous political mass through more unique priority points, there's usually just not enough substance. Often not enough substance to make good on their selling point promises. Almost certainly not enough to run a country with.

They will end up supporting the Tories, the LibDems, the racist BNP, or the fake-socialist "Labour" Party.

That's where ALL "reform" movements that don't explicitly oppose capitalism ALWAYS end up.
