How to become a professional race car driver?
Hello all at Yahoo Answers. How's it going? I was wondering if you could answer a somewhat simple question of mine? My question is how does one become a professional race car driver? I've been driving for years, and I've got some knowledge under my belt. But I was wondering how I could make it go farther? It's always been my dream, as cliche as that sounds. Lol. Anyways. Looking forward to hearing your answer. Thanks in advance!

hi, i'm okay, thanks. for racing yourself, you could follow a racing course, a lot of track have racing schools attached. but for becoming a pro, that's a different story. you need some money to invest in a lower class (formula renault or something) and be very, bery successful in it. only then you can interest some sponsors and maybe move up a class. be aware that most guys (and girls) who do, have started very early and are already in training programs.
all the best, at least enjoy what you're doing.

keep racing up into higher series. get to know a lot of the big names with more connections in the series. I don't think Michael waltrip would be where he was if he didn't know the right people while he raced his way up. Darrel sure didn't help him at all.
so know how the cars work, get into bigger series, get a sponsor, and know the right people. know the people who can get you sponsors and will be willing to help you.
also get a good team that also know a lot about the car and who will stick with you.

Don't know what you are racing but you have to move up the ranks to get noticed. Keep upgrading and move up. If you are racing Dirt try out asphalt. Move up to Nascar home tracks then perhaps ARCA so on and so forth.

Yes, I am hiring drivers for my race team to drive at Daytona this coming weekend. I am in need of 3 drivers. No experience is needed. I have three vehicles I'd like to field.
2001 Ford Focus 4 door
1999 Honda Accord 2 door
1998 Geo Metro hatchback
We are not a start and park team, and want to complete the Coke Zero 400.
I picked a pit-crew down at the rail yard and we are ready to go!

Just buy a ticket and show up at the track. They're always looking for drivers. No experience necessary.
