Is it illegal for a landlord to charge me an application fee?
My girlfriend and I have been looking into apartments for a while now, and I keep seeing ads with fees for applications. So, essentially, I'm applying to live somewhere, and paying for that process.. Personally. I do not feel I should pay for that. Only because I've got no idea why the landlord needs the money. Where exactly are they filing my application? Is the landlord a licensed realtor? Most times I am dealing with the building owner, aka landlord. And nothing states the landlord is the realtor of the property. So, why are they charging potential tenants application fees? Non refundable at that. I wouldn't feel so bad if it was prorated into the rent if my application was accepted. I would appreciate hearing from realtors and landlords, in hopes to give me a better understanding of this process. Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoAm I legally allowed to cash out my vacation time?
I work for the corporate machine known as Wal-Mart. It's not the worst place to work. It's not the best. But it's a job. Anyways. I've been there for nearly a year now. And when that anniversary date finally hits, I automatically get a week of paid vacation time. However, I'd rather have the money at this time as my vehicles need work and I've got bills to pay. What a grand life... lol anyways. So, I was wondering if they were obligated legally to cash out my vacation time and pay me if I chose to do so? Upon researching this, all I can find are articles in regards to terminated employees. I'm not terminated, so that doesn't help me in the slightest. Thanks in advance!
4 AnswersLaw & Legal8 years agoHow to become a professional race car driver?
Hello all at Yahoo Answers. How's it going? I was wondering if you could answer a somewhat simple question of mine? My question is how does one become a professional race car driver? I've been driving for years, and I've got some knowledge under my belt. But I was wondering how I could make it go farther? It's always been my dream, as cliche as that sounds. Lol. Anyways. Looking forward to hearing your answer. Thanks in advance!
7 AnswersNASCAR8 years agoBrake problems with my F-150 XL?
Hello all savvy Yahoo Answers mechanics. I own a 1995 Ford F-150 XL pickup. It's a full size, with a 5.0L motor and automatic transmission. 167,000 miles. All original. Definitely one of the base models as it has no roof upholstery. Anyways... Recently I encountered a brake issue about a week ago. I was coming off the highway when my brakes decided it was a good time to go soft. There was the sound of something rolling around. After replacing my front pads, calipers, the master brake line for the front brakes, and clamping down my hydraulic line to the hose on the caliper (upon replacing the pads, which i originally started on, i pumped my brakes to acquire full pressure because i had to clamp my calipers with c clamps in order to set them in place. When I pressed the pedal to the floor, the line popped off of the caliper and sprayed fluid everywhere inside of my wheel well. I used a hose clamp to keep it snug until I get the chance to replace it.) I found out that it was one of my adjusters that snapped out of place. Specifically the one in the right rear drum. It was still solid, so I put it back together and put it where it belonged. Today on my way home, my brakes seemingly got soft again. I checked everything that I worked on for leaks, and found nothing, Just residual on the driver side caliper bleeder valve. But it doesn't feel "fresh?" To my understanding, brake fluid never loses its viscosity, and doesn't dry, because it's a petroleum based product. I also checked my master cylinder and brake booster for leaks, and found nothing of the sort. I do hear something clicking though. But I can't tell where from. It's only when I press the pedal hard enough to stop. It sounds as if something is rubbing against my tire. I know my dust shields are rotted through, but that wouldn't cause a loss of pressure. At least not to my understanding. I don't really have too much else to say. So, if there's anything you guys can offer for knowledge it would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersFord8 years agoWhy doesn't my speedometer or odometer work?
Hello, my name is Anthony. Recently acquired a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder X.E. My speedometer doesn't work all that well. It seems to only work during cold conditions, like from a cold start. Once the truck warms up, which take about 5 minutes give or take. it stops working. If I drive long enough, it goes all the way to the end (100mph) resets, and works for a little while, and then resumes to not working at all. I have to rely on my GPS to give me accurate speeds. When I bought the truck, it was acting up. The odometer reads 175k, but because of this issue, I am not sure of the true mileage. Anyways. For all savvy mechanics, I would appreciate your help. What's broken and where can I get parts for a good price? Thanks in advance!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWhat could cause this in my car?
Hello all savvy mechanics here on Yahoo Answers. I have a question regarding my Ford Taurus. It's a 1993 GL. 3.0L V6 U Series motor. Recently during a snow storm, I was driving home, and out of nowhere my wheel jerked to the left. I proceeded to slow down to try and see what the fuss was about. But because of snow, I wasn't able to pinpoint the source of the issue. My steering wheel is slightly turned to the left now (positions 9 and 3 are now at 8 and 2 or 7 and 1 depending on speed. If you remember what you were taught for where to place your hands on the wheel then you know what I mean by these numbers.). And that's to keep it straight. Whereas my left front wheel is straight, and my right front is turned out at least ten degrees. When I originally purchased the car, I was told that the tie rods were bad and would need replacement soon. I inspected my car, and I didn't see any differences between any of my tie rods, inner ones or outer ones. Nothing looked bent out of shape. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spots? I haven't been able to get it to the shop yet. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoCar gets fuel pressure, but no spark? Electrical issue? Worse than or better than?
Hello, my name is Anthony, and I need an answer to a possibly serious or not too serious problem at hand. Currently own a 1993 Ford Taurus GL sedan. 3.0L V6 Automatic. Currently has 107k on it. Recently got into an accident and found out my trunk is rotting. So I decided to find a "new vehicle." In reality, I like the luxury of a Taurus. Especially the luxury within an SHO model from that era. It's the middle class man's mustang. And I have found one. But it has a few issues. Here is the description from the ad: "NO SPARK!!!! Gets fuel pressure but no spark. Had spark last week but no fuel pressure, fixed fuel issue, now no spark. Possible alarm or control module ???? Great fun little project." Looking at the vehicle it's in great condition. There is no rot on the rocker panels, or wheel wells. Which you'd typically expect. The guy is selling it for 800 dollars because of this issue. So I ask what could the problem with the car be?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoInformation and Specs on the 2200 RE Toyota Camry motor?
Hello, my name is Anthony, and I am in need of some help! I recently purchased a 1995 Toyota Camry LE Wagon. And I must say what an amazing vehicle. But I am looking to sell it. There is nothing wrong with it. Current mileage is 272,520 miles. The 2200 RE 4cyl is one of the best motors ever made. From what I've heard these motors can reach 600,000 miles if properly taken care of. I have all the info I need as far as selling value. But I am trying to find detailed information about this engine. All I know is that it was the most reliable engine. And was in all of the 92-96 Camry's of all body styles. And it was in the Tacoma's and Tundras of that era as well. But I was wondering if someone could help me by giving me a spec list on that motor, and maybe a little bit of history besides what I've mentioned? I can't seem to find anything. Thanks in advance!!

Alright so I'm looking into a new vehicle with better gas mileage than my truck. 13 mpg is just terrible. I was cruising craigslist and found a car that needs a head gasket. It's a 2001 Dodge Stratus ES. I'm curious as to how much a head gasket would cost for a car like this?

This may seem nerdy. But I'm an old fashioned kind of guy, especially when it comes to cars. Classic cars are head turners. Not the cheap crap they build these days. I was wondering if anyone could help me and give me pics of a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS or SS 396. Stock if possible. Black, Red. Any decent color of that decade. Google not only doesn't have a lot of pics, they are also small in size. Looking for 1024x768 or bigger. I'm looking to build a portfolio. Thanks

12 AnswersHair1 decade agoI'd like to know how to clean this without issue?
I have a 59FIFTY Black on Black Yankees hat 7 1/2. I left it along with a few items in a box in my basement. Recent discovery of the hat showed it had a bit of mildew growth on it. I have had this hat for years and it has a lot of good and bad memories that come with it. I want to clean it, without it fading in any way. Is there a way to clean it that is not harmful to the fabric?
