Congenital Hairy Nevis and Question of Paternity?
Could paternity be decided or eliminated if the child has a hairy nevis and the father does not? Also, is this trait only transmitted to males? My husband, who did not know his father, has one, but his sister does not. Our son has one but our daughters do not. We thought we knew the identity of my husbands father but he does NOT have a hairy nevis. Is he now eliminated?)

The hairy Nevis is rarely seen in females.
It is not enough to determine paternity, you need a DNA test.

I had never heard of this before so I looked up images and was shocked to see what this condition entails. To answer your question, the only sure determination of paternity is not by the inheritance of traits but by DNA testing. The research I did mentioned t hat it can become malignant so it is important to have it removed. I'm so sorry that you have family members with this condition. I hope the nevi are small and can be removed.
