    (x + 7)^(-1/3) - [(x + 7)^(-1/3)]^2

    (x + 7)^(-1/3) [1 - (x + 7)^(-1/3)]

    (x + 7)^(-1/3) [1 - (1/(x+7)^(1/3))]

You could go further with the difference of two cube roots, but that's a lot of hassle.

    take out an (x+4)^(-one million/4) on the two aspects: = (x+4)^(-one million/4) (one million- (x+4)^(-4/4)) = (x+4)^(-one million/4) (one million- one million/(x+4)) = (x+4)^(-one million/4) ((x+3)/(x+4)) = (x+3)/(x+4)^(one million/4) * (x+4) which might purely be = (x+3)/(x+4)^(5/4)
