Can I hook up an external hard drive to my tv to play my movies?

    Depends on your TV. You didn't mention which TV you have so . . .

    Check which file system is recognized by the TV - NTFS, FAT32 or FAT, etc. Then format the external hard drive accordingly

    Check which video formats are recognized by the TV - *.mp4, *.mkv, *.avi, etc. etc. Then convert the videos accordingly

    If your TV can play media from say thumb drive, then it most likely can from external hard drive. As person above me said, it really depends on the model and make of your TV
