Is it considered harassment if police continue to drive by my house slowly repeatedly after being arrested?

I haven't been arrested before but say if I were to be arrested and make bail shortly after, would it be considered harassment by the police if they continue to drive by my house slowly several times. I live in an area of a small town where most cars that go by are neighbors and ever since being arrested I have notice several cops drive by my house slowly. I live in small town in Tennessee so if that helps with the specific laws regarding your answer.

Not by just driving by...but if they harass you when you go out and they drive by your house it shows a pattern.........The best thing to do is to video the police driving by and keep accurate times and dates which are usually on the camera screen any way.

If you go out bring the video camera with you. Today they have video that will go out directly to the web so they can't take your camera and erase the evidence. Tape all encounters with them. They tend to be on their best behavior if they know they are being filmed.

You need to tell them as soon as they approach you are recording BOTH audio and video for the safety of all present. Be polite and to the point when engaging them. Also try and travel with more than just yourself if possible with whoever is present also having a recorder.

Know your rights and you should be fine.

It might, in reality, be intended to bug you, but you'd never be able to make a case against them for it, since police are allowed to, and expected to cruise their territory constantly, anyway.

If you can't prove it in court, you might as well learn to live with it.

If it was a regular person who continually drove by your house slowly, you might have a chance to claim harassment of some sort if you documented it, but with the police - you don't have a chance if that's all they do.

If they try to force their way on your property to search or whatever without a warrant, that'd be different, but you'd still have to have a witness or get it on film to be given a shot in court. Ain't worth it.

In a small town, it is likely the police will drive by yours and everyone else's house several times so no it is not harassment. It is proactive policing.

The police are patrolling a public street, protecting the residents, and keeping an eye out for illegal activity. The fact that you were arrested (for what?) adds to their duties. Your bail had certain requirements, and you should abide by those conditions.

If you feel the cup who is doing the drive by has personal issues with you, Yes it is. Just call the police station and ask for his supervisor.

He won't give you an straight answer but he will talk to the officer. You may just find that drive by stopped for some reason.

I had one cup following my car every f- ing time I passed him. Until I talked to his super. It stopped immediately

A cop driving around on a public city street, possibly to keep an eye on a known criminal....sounds legal.

    It most certainly isn't!

They may be keeping an eye on you or simply doing their job.

Best keep a low profile and not get too paranoid.
