German dialling code?

I have to call a number in Germany.

It starts with: 0234 then has a dash followed by five numbers, a dash and another two. Is this all I need? Thanks.

    The country code for Germany is 49. Dial your international access code then 49 followed by the German number (remove the initial 0).

    Uhm.. Let's imagine your friends mobile phone number is 0170 12345 you would have to phone +49170 12345 +49 = 0049.. so basicly you have to take off the first 0 of the mobile phone numbers :) and the area code for germany is 0049.

    0049 or + 49 plus the number without the 0 at the beginning

    Wikipedia says 0234 is the code for Bochum, so i guess, try it on a landline
