A question for Atheists:?

If you don't believe in God, why is is so important for you to try and show us He doesn't exist?

Update:

Wow, Guys. It was just a question. But, most of you did prove another point in that a lot of you can't respond to a simple question like this without letting your hate enter into your answer. Now, to respond to just a few of the questions/comments that some of you made, although I'm sure that they were meant to be rhetorical.

The reason that Christians try to share and show that God is real is that we are commanded by Him to do so. It is our job to do our best to share the Gospel of Christ with all non-believers. It's not us but Him who is giving you a chance to get your life on the correct path before it's too late.

Me asking this particular question is NOT an indication of any lack of faith or insecurity. It's simply a question that I've never gotten a plausible answer to. So, to imply otherwise without actually answering the question would almost reveal your own insecurities, wouldn't it? At the very least, it would seem to indicate that you can't d

I don't understand why someone who does not believe in something would want others to agree with them, its very sad.

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension.

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.

Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point.

I am 63 yrs old, and for my complete life had had religion thrashed down our throats whether we liked it or not. If one was to say one word that god was not true you were condemned, treated as if one could not be believed, like the early days they treated a woman as a witch, would put her on a plank and dunk her into the water that many times she drowned, once drowned that proved she was a witch, religious mythology, how could any nutter believe in such rubbish. My uncle when I was young was told buy the police man to stop digging his garden as it was a day of god, did not matter that his children may starve, religious madness gone wrong. When people had to go to court as a prosecution or witness one had to put their hand on a stupid bible to swear they were telling the truth, if not you would be the one probably thrown in prison and not the bad person, religious madness. Ricky Gervais, said on an interviews that he did not believe in 2790 gods, so he is an atheist, but the religious person does not believe in 2789 gods, they only believe in their one god, all the other gods they do not believe in, so the religious nutters are only one god of being an atheist, or they would beleive in all the 2790 stupid gods, the numbers are crazy how many gods they are, but everyone thinks their dp god is the correct god. Religion only talks of the nice lovely things in life, when the bad horrid thing happen the religious nutter wipe their hads of it saying he gives us all free will and it is ours to deal with, strange stupid man made rubbish.

“Theists, especially Christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views.

If all Christians stop crusading against science, education, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, stop dishonestly misrepresenting your beliefs as facts, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.”

‘Religious apologists complain bitterly that atheists and secularists are aggressive and hostile in their criticism of them. I always say: look, when you guys were in charge, you didn’t argue with us, you just burnt us at the stake. Now what we’re doing is, we’re presenting you with some arguments and some challenging questions, and you complain.’ A.C. Grayling

-People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs.- anon.

However, these laws are still on the books and have given atheist candidates trouble in the past. Cecil Bothwell, an atheist who in 2009 won an election for a Asheville, North Carolina city council seat, was almost unseated by local critics who pointed to a provision in North Carolina’s constitution that prohibited nonbelievers from being elected. This provision of the state constitution is similar to provisions in Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

I can't make anyone see the obvious if he is brainwashed against seeing it.

I can no more prove 'he' doesn't exist than you can prove 'he' does.

Most of my time is spent answering stupid questions like this...

IF rational arguments worked on religious people there’d be no religious people.

The obvious ignorance of True Believers™, Liars For Jesus™, Liars For Mo™ and Trolls who post ‘questions’ like this is evidence enough that their god does not exist.

No god could possibly be content with such ludicrous adherents.

It's not. I don't care one bit whether you irrationally believe in imaginary god-things or not.

I *do* are about your actions in the real world we all share. And if your actions are harmful to the real world we all share, I'm going to criticize them -- and the irrational "beliefs" on which they're based.

If theists would keep their "beliefs" to themselves as a personal guide to their own lives, I wouldn't care one bit. They *don't* to that, though. So I care when they harm others motivate by their irrational beliefs. And pointing out that their beliefs are irrational and rather silly is one way to get them to stop harming the world motivated by such "beliefs."

Because you may have kids one day and brainwash them to your religion.

Or try to convince other people around you.

The problem is that virtually all religions have some members who, at some point, went on a killing rampage, claiming that 'god' asked them to do so.

Because many atrocities are committed in God's name, and the belief in God continues to hold back the progress of society. I'd like to see those bad things stop.

Because if you saw someone lost in the woods wouldn't you want to help them get back to camp. You guys are lost in believe in delusional brainwash that does nothing but hold back the human race

But I haven't done that. Voicing ones opinion is certainly not showing you he doesn't exist. In fact, you Christians are very strange. You think it's OK to change language to make it fit what you want so then you can lie. I find that very dishonest.

Because your false religious beliefs are being used as an excuse to oppress minorities. We also have people doing immoral things in the name of their false religious beliefs (like kill abortion doctors). We also have people trying to insert their false religious beliefs into legislature. It would be okay and trivial if these were just mere beliefs, but it is much more than that.

One more thing. Every moderately religious person is an open target for religious extremism.
