i want to be a pediatric dentist but i dont want to get married or be pregnant at 30. I"m 14, going to be a freshman in one month, and thinking about my future. 2 years of college all core sciences.
The DenCAT.
Admission to a dental school.
4 years to DMD
A year of residency with a pediatric dentist.
Several years more if you want to become a orthodontist which is where the biggie bucks are.
Figure at age 30 to 31 you're in business.
After a year of full-time dentistry, assuming your equipment is bought cheap, or you buy into a dental practice, you can set a 40 hour workweek.
Most childrens' dentistry is routine. So you run a tight ship, have a good lab going, you ought to do well.
