Silver Crest VHS to DVD converter - HELP!!!?
Bought one from Lidl but can't work out what plugs go where... Got an old Sony TRV27E camcorder and am desperate to convert footage of kids when babies etc....
Any help/advice gratefully received!!!
Thanks Iridflare - even more confused as footage is on Hi8 tapes. That does need 'converting' doesn't it or will Firewire work? Thanks!!

Seems I'm stuffed any way - Enquiry yielded this:
"I'm sorry but there's no way to get an external setup in order to have a firewire interface. If you have any extension slot (pcmcia, expresscard...) then you'll have to buy the card and it will add the firewire port, but if you don't have extension slot available and only USB ports, for instance, then you won't be able to link a firewire device to your computer."
Ho hum.....

Your Sony TRV27E is a MiniDV type of system. You can transfer your video direct to your computer using "firewire".You will need some type of program to view/edit those videos. Windows movie maker is basic.

You don't need an analog to digital converter (that's what a VHS to DVD converter is) - your camcorder footage is already digital. If your PC hasn't already got one you should install a firewire card, buy a firewire cable and use that instead. FWIW, the converter connects to the PC via USB and the camcorder is connected via the colour coded AV plugs.
