  • Who owns Copyright?

    Wife bought a box of ephemera at a local action which contained photos from late 1940's to 1950's with a company 'Copyright' stamp on the rear. The company was bought and sold several times and no longer exists as an entity in its original form.

    Who owns the Copyright?

  • Right to protest - UK question?

    My employer is huge but useless - they have driven me to a point where I physically and mentally can not work for them anymore. People there are scared they'll lose their jobs if they make 'trouble'. Problem is there is favouritism, nepotism, fraud, mismanagement and previous assaults, one of which I personally witnessed.

    I am so annoyed I have bought a domain which mimics the company name and planned to open it for people to post their thoughts, opinions and experiences on. I also considered going to the media and marching up and down outside their offices with a good old placard.

    I've been told if I do any of the above they will likely sue me for libel/slander/defamation!!

    Thoughts please, including all you trolls and keyboard heroes - I hear you chomping at the bit already!! You want to waste your time and feel 'big' and self-satisfied who am I to stop you, it is a democracy with freedom of speech after all - Oh, wait......

  • UK question on a will - Intent?

    If a will is written specifying a particular address but the person moves to a new address is what's written valid? My mothers partner sadly died a month ago and his will states;

    "I give and bequeath to (my mother) the entire contents of my home. Upon the sale of my home (old address quoted here) the net proceeds to be divided, that is to say, 6 equal shares unto my dear friend (my mother) absolutely, 2 equal shares to my son and the final 2 equal shares to my daughter"

    Does this still stand even though he has moved to a different property? A solicitor is saying it may not....

    Thank you

    I recently bought a small Bay (Laurus nobilis) to grow and who's leave I planned to use in my cooking but the label says "For decorative purposes only not for consumption".

    Wary of becoming ill, is this right? I mean, are there difference varieties of Bay? I thought a Bay was a Bay was a Bay....

  • Landlord access - Do I have to? UK question?

    Renting through an agent but Landlord/Owner keeps wanting to 'pop round' to check work done by contractors etc.

    I find this quite invasive and wondered if I had to grant them access to the property or not - it may be their property but whilst I pay £1000 a month to rent it I consider it my 'home'

    Thanks!!
