Tailpipe blows out puff of blue smoke on cold-start?
Is this normal? 2005 Camry, 123,000 miles, due for oil change in a week. Anyways, my brother pointed out he saw a puff of smoke when turning on my car. So, I recorded this this morning. Cold Start. It doesn't do this at any other time. Only when its been off for a few hours. Valve seals? Or is this minimal normal?

That happens to every G.M. vehicle ever made after it reaches a certain age, BUT for a toyota to do that is a bit odd. I wouldnt pay it any attention unless it gets worse. A little bit is okay on start up. but if it gets worse, valve seals are a good dart to throw, just leaking a tad into the cylinders.

Check the following also: Have someone follow you while you're traveling 60 mph with the engine up to full operating temperature. Slide your foot completely off the accelerator. If the person behind you sees smoke, you have loose valve guides.

Stem seals or vslvd guides or both. If it kept smoking, I'd say the pcv valve.
