i would like to go on holiday with a friend of mine from the uk to asia, he needs full time care, please advis?

we are hoping to go to japan next year, but he will need a full time carer and he has asked me to go because I work in the care home he lives in,

do you have any ideas how we should go about this, and if there are any ways which we can apply for grants or something to help him pay for the carer,

I will pay my fair share but I wonder if there is a way to get help as he is severly disabled, quadraplegic

also, how about flying, he can not transfer but can we take electric wheelchairs on aeroplanes, can you recommend a place to start finding this sort of information

thanks for your help

I've worked in this field for years, and I've never heard of anyone getting a grant to go on holidays. Good luck but I think this might be just a dream of his. Its one thing to be cared for 24 / 7 in a nursing home with all the necessary equipment, but to do it in hotel rooms / on planes / in countries where there is little disabled access ....good luck. I'd suggest that you speak to the UK Disability Services about this.

Who wouldn't want to go on a trip. Disabled people tend to not be able to if they live in a care home. Not enough money.
