"Take me there for I cannot" bible verse?

Someone quoted a bible verse the other day and it was talking about how we can't earn our way into heaven, hence "Take me there, for I cannot" but for the life of me I can't remember the reference.

Anyone know this one?

Thanks in advance :)

You haven't provided enough to even check it - try logging onto www.biblegateway.com and using the search engine for specific words or phrases, and don't forget to try different versions since it may not be found worded that way in one but might be in another.

    These verses, perhaps:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God"

    Ephesians 2:8

"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit"

    Titus 3:5

Luke 14:27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

It can be from a paraphrased Bible too.

John 8:21 Once more Jesus said to them, "I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come." 22 This made the Jews ask, "Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, 'Where I go, you cannot come'?"

    or maybe

Mark 10: 35James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying, “Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”36And He said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?”37They said to Him, “Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory.”38But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”

I don't believe I've read any scripture that says you can't earn your way to heaven. I know In Mark Jesus was talking about earning your way to heaven.

Big things have small beginnings. Look at Jesus. He said he didn't come to be served but to serve so that he may earn his right to the throne.
