How do you look at the NLC workers striking work against Court orders to await the negotiation results?

thank you Moon for your response. But the share of Tamilnadu out of the 2490 megawatt produced by NLC is 1178 MW. This is no small share. Also due to lack of lignite supply to private thermal power units, further 250 MW produced by them would also be not available to the State.

BUt my Q was about the labour unions disregarding the court's directive to wait. If the court had pulled up the Central Govt under which the Corporation falls, the same Unions would have shouted for the head of the Govt (for immediate compliance of their demands to withdraw the decision to sell the 5% shares). The disrespect of the court if its decision/. directives are not in favour to one side, is most despicable isn't it? Doesn't it just look like bullying rather than arguing and persuading the Govt?!

Not just the labour Unions that work under parties like Congress, Communists, Dravidian denominations etc, even advocates belong to some or other political / communal outfits and even manage to capture posts in the Bar council and Advocate Assns and pressurise the Judges to give verdicts they want. An incident in Kanyakumari is taken up by Chennai lawyers to strike work demand court intervention instead of allowing rule of law to play through its stipulated agencies. It is ok if they approached the Collector or CM to take up the issue with police instead of pressing the Judges to intervene bypassing the executive wings charged with the duty to deal these.

Even so did the labour unions bypass court directions. Polticians swear by Constitution and can not disrespect constitutional bodies with ''impunity''. Just because the Courts or Govts lack the grit to take action, they continue to bully the Constitutional bodies in a regular way.

Captain, you have said what general public say though the media are carefully avoiding criticising the Unions. The media are careful about the Activists and Unions while they would boldly attack soft targets with all the force of logic and ethics at their command!
