Do you believe George Zimmerman should go to prison or not?

He should be acquitted. There's not enough evidence to convict him of 2nd degree murder.

I am a white guy if that matters but I do think Zimmerman was at least out of line by getting out of his vehicle and approaching Martin. I do not think he did so with intent to shoot the lad but he had already called 911, should have waited for the police and all this never would have happened. I think too that they charged him with the wrong crime of 2nd degree murder which will require proof that he intended to kill when that is so very hard to do. I believe negligent homicide or manslaughter would have been a more suitable charge and one easier to get a conviction on. I do think he should be penalized but not for murder 2 so what happens now I cannot say. I don't know if the jury has the option of convicting him on a lesser charge or can only deal with the one presented and I do not think the prosecution has proven the deliberate intent to do harm necessary for the murder conviction.

Martin DID run away from Zimmerman.

That's how and why Zimmerman was recorded on police audio admitting he was chasing Martin.

That police audio confession is also why Zimmerman can, should and will end up in prison.

Because Zimmerman admitted breaking the only law that could let him get away with murder:

Not guilty. He should file suit against the State of Florida for malicious prosecution plus against ABC for tainting the jury pool against him with a doctored video tape. What you think doesn't matter, it's up to a jury.

You couldnt have followed the entire trial, or you would know Zimmerman is a bigot and a racist. You arent black no way,,if you are you have your head in the sand. Trayvon was armed with candy, Zimmerman armed with a gun. He persued the kid. What would you do if some ugly creep was following you with a gun in the night? You wouldnt fight the creep back? No. One misconception is that he was under "police" orders to stop, instead of a 911 operator. There's so many variables here, I think "reasonable doubt" on his side.

Guilty of manslaughter seems appropriate, and the normal US prison sentence should apply.
