How do I free up space in the "cloud storage" of my Samsung Galaxy S3?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 3. I keep getting these text alerts that my "cloud" is over 75% full. The message says I should upgrade my storage but I don't even know what the "cloud" is and does. I erased every single photo and video and song from my phone. I only have 5 apps installed on the phone. When I go to "Backup Assistant Plus" it says my Total Cloud Storage is 500 MB but I only have 120 MB of Available Cloud Storage.
Can anyone explain the importance of this feature and what I can do to free up storage space in my "cloud." I thought if I deleted my pix/vids and music files it would free up space but it didn't make any difference.
Thanks for any advice you can offer!

The cloud is virtual storage, where your files are backed up on the internet. No matter how much you delete from your phone, it will not free up any cloud storage because the files are not on your phone. The purpose of the cloud is to backup important files so they are not lost if something happens to your phone. There are many companies that offer cloud services, but "Backup Assistant Plus" is offered by Verizon Wireless. It used to be called "Sync & Connect." This service is limited in many ways compared to other cloud services, particularly the type of data it will store and the low quantity. It will only backup contacts, e-mail, text, and picture messages.
It is much easier to backup your contacts to your GMail account and use an app like Copy or Dropbox for all other types of files. These services offer more versatility and storage space.
Based on what you've said, you probably just want it to go away, it works as a feature that is added to your account. You can use your online account to remove the feature yourself or call Verizon customer service and tell them you want to remove Backup Assistant Plus.

The Galaxy S III mini is nothing like the real Galaxy S III in both hardware and software. The Galaxy S III mini uses more cheaper, older and less powerful hardware than the Galaxy S III and not all features on the actual Galaxy S III is present on the Galaxy S III mini. That is the major downfall. It's not as good, it's slower, doesn't offer as much and etc. The only good thing about the mini is the how compact it is. The Galaxy S III is a much better handset, you may think it's big at first, but you'll get used to it after a few days. Most people do. I even see people with small hands holding the Galaxy Note II with no problems at all and actually likes it. So the Galaxy S III is the same, since it's smaller than the Note II, it's much easier to hold. The S III is faster and comes with more features than the mini and once you get the Premium Suite update, you also get Galaxy Note II features such as multi-view which allows you to run two apps simultaneously in a split view (one app at the top and one at the bottom).

Your pictures are being kept on a wonderful Google Cloud... ;) but if you want to Delete them please follow the instructions below, then Turn Off the Auto Backup option on your phone.
To Delete photos from Cloud:
Log onto Google Plus online
Click on the Home drop down box
Click on the All Photos options
You will see all the photo s from your phone appear on the screen
Click on the Tick box on each photo that you would like to delete (select maximum 10 pics at a time or it will not delete properly)
All deleted pictures will be Permanently deleted in 60 days (Once they are Permanently deleted they are irretrievable, so don t delete anything that you may want to keep)
To Turn Off Auto Backup:
Go to Settings>Backup and Reset>Turn Off Auto Backup

I logged onto "My Verizon Account" on my computer to delete and free up "cloud' space. If you haven't created an account yet, you can first log in by typing in your cell phone number and they will send you a temporary password by text message. Use your cell phone number and this temporary password to log in and create an account. Once the account is created, log back in and click on one of the categories at the top of the web page. I forget which, but you should see "Backup your contacts" under one of the lists. Click this and you will see two categories on the left, contacts and media. Click on media and all your files should be shown in each category like photos, videos, music, etc. You can select individual files or select all and permanently delete these files to free up your "cloud" space.
I hope this helps. It took me awhile to figure this out myself.
