Your question just made me realise that I'm really into tragic anime. Like real movies don't make me cry only anime does which is fascinating. I also like sad music. And some upbeat but mainly orchestral sad epics. Maybe it's just because the songs get you emotionally involved like you feel sad when it gets to a sad part and happy when it gets happy.

Yeah that upbeat stuff? Forget it I say. B who u want to be. I'm not afraid to tell everyone that I love orchestral epics and not hip hop stuff. I hate Rhianna. And all the other 165 girls (not in my classes just grade at school) love her music. I do tcare what they think of me. I don't wanna be like them to fit in. I wanna be myself and stand out in a good way.

No it's just the type of genre your into. As long as you don't feel depressed/sad/down all the time, there's nothing wrong with it..
