What is going on with my computer?

When I watch YouTube videos 720p looks bad in the smaller screen. In Fullscreen it looks fine, but anti aliasing looks really bad. 480p looks fine in the smaller screen. I am using internet explorer because Google Chrome does not work and Internet Explorer is the only browser on my computer the will work. Before you say "is it on HD" it is. My resolution is all the way up to the recommended setting,

Higher resolution videos on the small player look awful. You essentially are trying to look at more pixels than are available in the player.

I'm not sure how big the small player is, but let's say it's X x Y pixels. 720p is 1280x720 pixels and X is less than 1280 and Y is less than 720. Pushing up to full screen means there are more pixels to display and you can fit the 1280x720 in without distortion or "missing data" from removing pixels.

You need to either use the larger player or fullscreen, or settle for a lower resolution when using the smaller player.

The anti-aliasing issue when fullscreen could be the video itself or just needs that boost into 1080p to look good. I'm afraid there's no way to fix that.
