Guitar truss rod not working.?

If you don't know about bow, don't answer this question. My neck seems flat and I get some buzz. I loosened the truss rod but it gives me no downward bow. (using the capo on first fret and fretting 14th fret) It is acoustic Fender -- don't have the model in front of me, but it's fairly new. I know model ends with an 8.

The truss does loosen and get tight. If it is loose, does it do any good to keep loosening? It has sat over night, no movement.

Update:

String touch all the frets when fretted on top and bottom-- first fret and 14th.

Update 2:

String touch all the frets when fretted on top and bottom-- first fret and 14th.

If the truss rod is loose, there is no point in loosening it any further. It could take a day or two (or even longer) for truss rod adjustments to have their full effect as it can take some time for the pull of the strings to have their full effect.

Make sure you are not using ridiculously light strings. Otherwise, really I can't see what could be done to rectify the problem. There are, of course, fixes but they are likely to cost far more than the value of the guitar.

Keith, you need to provide relief at the center of the neck. This requires tightening the truss rod in quarter-turn increments until you get a credit-card thickness at the midpoint. Tightening is turning the adjustment rod clockwise; if you encounter substantial resistance to movement, have it checked by a competent tech. This is not rocket science. Best regards, Dana

I would take it to a guitar tech and ask if it can be fixed. At least that much will be free. It could be the bridge also.
