I don't like drama. I love comedy.

  • Need title of book I once read. I can't remember. Was read in an accent. Help!?

I listened to audio book years ago. Hazy memories, but it was mainly in an Eastern European accent, like Romanian or something. It was about a young guy and he corresponded with someone in the states. He went on a search for a old woman with his dad. He had a younger brother he was concerned about. It had parts going back to ww2.

    Any thoughts?

  • Question about songwriting. Adding music.?

I have written some songs. I understand the format of verse/ chorus, etc. I strum the guitar so I just want to add chords to the words. How do I know what and where to add chords?

I understand about playing in a key and such, but when I add chords to my words, how do I know how often to change chords and at what point do they change?

Also, is there some logic to the progression? When do you use the relative minor, etc?

I would like to watch a video but I can't find anything about this on Youtube.

  • Question about society. Will we keep pushing the limits?

Years ago, it was scandalous to see a girls ankle, then came one piece swimsuits and then bikinis and now g-strings. Elvis was edited on TV... now we have twerking and sex simulation for kids to see. I'm not a prude, but honestly, what will the world be doing in a 100 years? Will there be actual sex penetration in videos? Is there a line somewhere where we will stop at?

  • Theory question-- guitar chords.?

Say I'm playing a song for a singer in key of C. The singer wants to go lower... what keys are lower? I can transpose with no problem, but don't understand the range. Is A the lowest? Some people say there is no lowest or highest, but they don't explain. But then I have read where hymns are usually in G or D, Why? Are these in the middle?

I know to go higher you can use a capo. If I were in C and added capo to 2nd, I'd be in D if I used same fingerings. That is not what I want to know.

  • Can I play bass guitar using treble clef?

(If you don't know, don't guess.) -- I can pick out notes on the 6 string guitar using treble clef. I can read bass clef and play bass guitar, but if I have sheet music only in treble, could I play the bass guitar also? Wouldn't a G be a G? Could I find root and pick triads? Or a box pattern? Can't find anything on YouTube.

There are guitar chord 'play along' videos on YouTube, could I use them to play bass? (Look up Alan Robinson on YouTube)

  • How do I experience God?

I'd like to experience God, but everything else I experience, I can prove or quantify-- like gravity or sound. How do I experience something that is 100% un-provable from what I can tell. Do I just have to believe first and it magically appears? I want to believe that I'll walk on streets of gold after I die, if I believe it hard enough, will it become true?

  • Guitar truss rod not working.?

If you don't know about bow, don't answer this question. My neck seems flat and I get some buzz. I loosened the truss rod but it gives me no downward bow. (using the capo on first fret and fretting 14th fret) It is acoustic Fender -- don't have the model in front of me, but it's fairly new. I know model ends with an 8.

The truss does loosen and get tight. If it is loose, does it do any good to keep loosening? It has sat over night, no movement.

  • I'm writing, help me find the right phrase.?

For a book. I want more phrases that fit loosely with these-- dog eat dog, pecking order, survival of the fittest, every man for himself, food chain, kill or be killed, etc.

  • Question about motorcycle performance for serious mechanic only.?

Is it all in my mind? I have noticed this on other bikes but I have a 96 Yamaha Virago 535 and I have noticed that it sounds like it is working hard around 60 or so - if I shifted fairly early.

If I rev it more before I shift, it seems to handle 60 better. If it seems to be straining at 60, I'll slow and downshift then get the rpm up before I shift into the last gear -- then it rides better. I don't understand how this could be.

  • Keys higher or lower with guitar?

Is there a chart or something? If I am playing guitar without capo, and say I'm playing in C, and the singer wants to go up or down-- is A and B lower or what? I thought G was low but it is at the other end. I know on a piano it keeps going because you can go to the next octave.

I can transpose from C to G, etc, (I,IV,V) But on guitar, is A lower or is G lower, etc, and WHY.

  • GE refrigerator ice maker not working?

GE TFX 20 JR ice maker is not working. It does not get water to the top. Water goes to the water dispenser on the door. I checked the hose to the ice maker and there is no water going to it. I rigged it so that the water would go to that line, but it kept pouring out of the ice maker so i had to undo it- but it made ice afterwards. What do I need to replace?

  • Guitar neck set up question?

There is a LITTLE to much space between the strings and my frets at the 12 fret on my older guitar. How do I know if I need a truss adjustment or if I can just lower the saddle? Don't say to take it in.
