Can I play bass guitar using treble clef?

(If you don't know, don't guess.) -- I can pick out notes on the 6 string guitar using treble clef. I can read bass clef and play bass guitar, but if I have sheet music only in treble, could I play the bass guitar also? Wouldn't a G be a G? Could I find root and pick triads? Or a box pattern? Can't find anything on YouTube.

There are guitar chord 'play along' videos on YouTube, could I use them to play bass? (Look up Alan Robinson on YouTube)

yeah not a problem at all. Middle C on the bass clef is the same as middle c on the treble clef. It's also on the bass guitar. But like you said, a G is a G no matter what it's played on. If you have a 6 string bass guitar it has the full range of a grand piano.

No, I had the same issue, I looked for a way around it. Either learn bass clef or read chord charts. It will be hard at first, but you'll get better, I promise.
