Keys higher or lower with guitar?
Is there a chart or something? If I am playing guitar without capo, and say I'm playing in C, and the singer wants to go up or down-- is A and B lower or what? I thought G was low but it is at the other end. I know on a piano it keeps going because you can go to the next octave.
I can transpose from C to G, etc, (I,IV,V) But on guitar, is A lower or is G lower, etc, and WHY.
I'm talking keys, not notes. I know the fretboard notes. I know E is lowest note, but then is E lowest chord then? I'm talking chords. Strumming.

I'm afraid you can't go about it that way. Whether or not one key is too high or low for a particular singer/voice depends on the melody within the song - in other words, one song may be perfect in the key of C, while another song may be too high or low in the same key; it all depends on how the melody goes.
However, if one particular song is too high or low in one key, you will need to transpose it down or up. And for this you will need some very basic understanding of theory - the instrument it is played on really doesn't matter.
Say, you have a song in C major and it is a bit high, you can try to take it down to A (three steps). If it's too low in C, you may try to take it up to D (two steps, one note higher). The chords follow the scale: C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, A# (Bb), B and C. There really is no mystery to it.
Of course, on a guitar, you will need to know how to play the various chords around the neck - with or without a capo. Again, it's very basic understanding of the guitar and music theory.
If this is complicated, then I highly suggest you spend a couple of hours with a guitar tutor - it will probably save you a lot of headaches.

notes, such as E, is also the chord E, and thus the "key". you should ask something specific about singing, as there are some smart folks here.
To play in the right key, the singer has to know what key their voice is in. If the notes are too high, then what is their highest note they can sing? that might be a start.
If the highest note you can sing 90% of the time is G4, then you should be able to do most songs in G, Gb, or F

I agree with the guy who will email you a transpostion chart. The other guy up top gave you the chords transposed one step lower. But he gave you bad advice telling you to drop tune. Drop tuning is for lazy people who only know basic chords, or can't play anything above the first 4 frets, so they drop tune to play lower notes using the same fingerings. do yourself a favor and learn to play and transpose properly, it will serve you much better in the long run. drop tuning is only for Death metal fans who don't own a 7 string guitar.

lowest note on a guitar is E. every 1/2 step up raises it.
F, F#, G, G#, A, Bb, B, C, C#, D, D#, E
