What does a simple murder trial have to do with politics?

It can be used as a tool to promote political crusades like gun bans, a restriction of self defense rights, "racial profiling" laws, and changing the justice system to decide trials based on public opinion instead of by proving guilt in the case.

Very little. But then, what do a hundred iterations of the same questions every hour have to do with anything? 90% of the questions on here right now are Zimmerman questions. Is there really nothing else going on in the world?

Nothing is the answer. Just ignore all the hoopla. It will go away.

As usual it's all about politics. The left wants revenge and the right wants justice.

cons say this trial is trying to take guns away from people and won't let them defend themselves...

liberals say it proves that race is a factor in the legal system and changes should be made...
