Why don't you do what You want to do instead of what other people "think" you should do.

If I told you either one, who has to live with the consequences of that decision? Me? Or YOU?

Well if you feel like you are a fighting kind of guy then go to the Marines. I don't know if you are talking about the regular Navy or the Navy SEALs by this, but if you aren't the fighting kind of person then the Navy is the way to go in my opinion. The Marine Corps offers a lot of MOS's so maybe you should explore some of those.

I have nothing against either branch but it all depends on what you want. If you want to be out at sea for months upon months, then Navy. If you don't and you're okay with the jobs of a Marine, then do Marine. If you want to continue your education though the Navy would be an excellent choice.

Thats a pretty relative question. I joined the Marines because I have a tendency to do things that bring me the most pride. In other words, the extra hardship I looked at as a challenge that would make me feel good after pushing through. If you think similarly and like to do things just so you can say you did, join the Marines. If you are looking for what will be the most pleasant, comfortable, or beneficial to a career after the military, the Navy is a wiser choice.

it depends on what your looking to do in the military, dont just choose on what other people tell you.

for example you want to be infantry you can go Army or MarineCorps

    both great fighting forces.

or if your looking into the field of medicine i heard the Navy is the way to go, but dont quote me on that.

and people saying, that joining the navy means you will spend the whole time on ships that is not true, there are many sailors who work on land... ex. NavySeabees and FMF Corpsmen NavyEod are a few examples

my point is figure out what you want to do, then look into all the branches and choose witch one suits you best,

Neither are best, there is only the best for you. Go into the one you want to, we cannot make an informed enough decision to tell you what branch to go into.

    Salvation Army.

Source(s): If you're not going to do actual research on the jobs they offer and what roles they play in the grand scheme of things, then you're digging yourself into a hole full of disappointment.
