Is winzip registry optimizer a virus?

Question

I'm not sure where it came from, but one day I suddenly started getting a program that would pop up called "win zip registry optimizer". It supposebly scans your computer for anything wrong with it.
Than it tells you to fix it using the program. So, is it a virus? If so how would I get rid of it?

DONT even think about using SuperAntiSpyware, IT SUCKS.
It used to be a good program but now, no...
Anyway, you can try using Malwarebytes AntiMalware www.malwarebytes.org
Just download it, install it and run a scan, then remove all detections and restart your computer.

it is scamware downloaded and installed via a trojan.
it is a fake program,
there are some tutorials on utube on how to remove it.

you also need to find the trojan that downloaded and installed it,
before it loads your computer with other malware and viruses.

Run scans with these one at a time.
remove what ever they find.
They do not need to be installed,

The reason why it may have popped up out of nowhere is because if you install a program sometimes you have to choose custom install and select which components to install.
