World War 3 = US vs. Russia, China, Iran?

A nuclear option is not a realistic option for any country. Russia has the most nukes followed by the USA and we know from the 'cold war' that it's essentially 'assured mutual destruction'.

Iran isn't a realistic threat to the USA in any real capacity other than destabilizing the oil production in the middle east.

China has the 'largest' ground army and a growing navy. China has shown through it's naval patrols that has the ability to maintain long term presence outside it's historic range of patrol.(see their assistance in combating pirates off the coast of Africa)

Russia has the best overall military capability of the 3 that you mentioned. However, they don't have a reason to go to war and they know it would cause a 'end of the world' scenario.

Last let's talk about the USA. World's most advanced and for all purposes trained military. Only country that has true 'global' military presence. Stealth technology allows for a true 1st strike capability.

So let's say that this happened. First the worlds economy would shut down essentially over night. Travel worldwide by air and sea would cease almost overnight. The world would see for the 1 time since WWII what the true capabilities of the American military complex.

People seem to forget that the USA as a country hasn't truly ever used it's full might to attack a 'country'. (and before you all start talking about Vietnam, Afghanistan let me make this perfectly clear in those to military actions the USA was not at war with the country itself, but rather military insurgents) Don't believe me, do some research.

(So keep in mind if this ever happened there is no winner)

Now assuming the USA has no allies like Israel, Jordan, Egypt, UK, Japan, Canada, Mexico and various EU countries(which wouldn't happen) so the USA is going at this solo.

Well of the countries that you mentioned, non really have the capabilities to mount an effective and sustainable conflict on USA soil.

USA sea and air assets can effectively render Iranian and Chinese forces land locked within 72hrs if the USA issued an essential no retreat no surrender scenario. Meaning strategic airstrikes on anti air capabilities in said countries, followed by strategic strikes against military and civilian air and sea ports, then strikes against military and government installations and offices and then finally strikes against medical facilities. Major roadways would be bombed to eliminate mass transit into and out of country. US naval assets can for the most part hunt, track and eliminate 98% of Chinese and Russian naval vessels, and 100% of Irans.

Russia poses a bigger problem. Russia has outdated equipment when compared to USA, but they have training that equals and in some instances exceeds that of US forces. The US could take out Russian anti air facilities with minimal loss, Russian airforce and navy poses a bigger problem due to sheer numbers. USA would eventually gain control of air and sea, but not without severe losses. Now here's the crux, the USA and Russia stalemate with a land war. So for the USA to have any chance they would have to successfully take out Russia's ability to effectively use it's air capabilities.(same hold true for Russia with a war on US soil)

Finally, to all the people that disagree with me. I understand that I have oversimplified a very complex scenario. I have used generalizations about the aforementioned countries capabilities and realistically this scenario would never happen because the USA has allies as well. No I don't think the US could win a war with the 3 countries at the same time, with no support from allies. Yes I do believe the US under current world structure will never be effectively invaded. Also, any country that thinks the US have in the last 45yrs used the full might of their military you are sadly mistaken. They have used 65% of it at any given time. In a war with any of those countries, all non-combatant military aged males would be locked down in prison like facilities(ALL of them). ROE's would be left in the hands of the 'boots on the ground', no mercy would be applied. The people who claim America is the great satan, will finally see what they are capable of when they no longer care about world opinion or loss of life. I hope that this never happens and I doubt it will, but that is my thoughts on it.

China And Russia Vs Usa

Its purely my opinion and I am not taking sides. But during the Korean War, China took on the UN military. It wasn't just the US alone. The US was winning in the Korean war and as soon as the US approached the Chinese border... Troops were sent by China and it was just a volunteer army from China not the main Military. They pretty much won back the territory for the Koreans. Granted the US didn't use the A-Bomb at that time but Russian also had the A-bomb. Russian supplied air support to China while China did hand to hand combat. Of course Russia also did not use their entire air force. It was suppose to be a secret mission. Fast forward to 2014, Russian has the largest stock pile of Nuclear weapon and China is also a Nuclear country with a superior military and Navy. I am just stating the facts here. China's ground force is well over a billion strong and Russian is well more and capable of winning most countries.. If the US took on one of the Super-Powers it will be well drawn out war.. Nuclear weapons can't really be use because US, Russian and China have Nuclear Weapon. Provide that it would be more of hand to hand combat because it they did it would be the end of the world. I wouldn't even count Iran in this just Russian and China and the US would Lose.. Again just my opinion not taking sides and reading from previous history.

I would guesstimate a world war will become red-hot anytime between the next 6-24 months. It may last anywhere between 3-10 years.

The economy will quickly collapse into depression levels, 18 year old's will be drafted and countries will start jumping in as the war gets hotter. China at some point will join in on the side of Russia.

This will be the greatest war the world has ever seen. It's the fight for global dominance as the west struggles to keep it's empire and the emerging countries struggle to free themselves from it.

The problem now is that Russia has begun conquesting ukraina and that may lead to Estonia (and the other 2 countries i cant remeber the names) may let themselves be ockupied by russia. That can lead to USA trying to stop them and getting in a war with russia. China can join because of the oppurtunities that may occur.

For one, NATO would never agree to an open engagement with Russia if the US caused it. After tip-toeing around open conflict with Russia for 50+ years I highly doubt they would blow all of that effort away on Russia alone. A NATO nation would have to be directly attacked by overt military aggression from Russia or a Russian ally to ever go all-out on Russia or any non-NATO nation.

british and america will defeat russia. Snod45, im sorry to say your on the right track. since koreas threat, that was the hint of a brink. russia thinks korea will back them up. Us Us Army infantry are the first to go in kill both single-handed lol. not to mention SAS and The BritianBlackOps. ww3 is right around the corner. but hey snod, we have nothing to worry about but 1 thing. and thats our troops. that means some will be drafted. the u.s. all 18 age citizens, men only have to sign up for selective service, and when they draft they will pull my card. i just hope for the best and just sure hope obama knows what hes doing?
