Should I post my novel on Wattpad?
I've already completed the first draft of my fantasy novel and in the process of editing it. The thing is, I'm in desperate need of beta readers, feedback, reviews, constructive criticism, etc. Should I post it on Wattpad for others to view? What are the risks? I know more and more authors are getting published after posting stories online, but I really just want to know others reactions and thoughts. I do plan on querying agents one day when I feel my novel is cleaned up and edited enough. Thanks.

I second CritiqueCircle.com.
You're pretty much almost guaranteed a critique. You have to critique others' work to post your work for critique. And what is it - your work is up for seven days? I can't remember. Haha, maybe that means I should be going back to that site XD Anyway, people tend to critique the excerpts with shorter word counts first. But, by the end of the week, all of the excerpts up usually have at least one critique. And there's a minimum character/word count on the critiques - so you're not getting who write "It's good, except for this part, okay, bye," just so they can post up their own work :P
Like others said, if you intend on publishing that specific work - publishing it somewhere else is generally a no-no. I guess (I hear anyway) that some publishers don't mind if a very small portion is up online somewhere. But I'm kind of, "Better safe than sorry!" person.
As for Wattpad... It's a nice place to post if you just want it to readable someplace online. The feedback isn't always reliable. I've seen some very - I don't want to say terrible, but - poor pieces of very inexperienced writers on that site get wonderful feedback XD I suppose, if you're really going to go for it, you should put a "Critique requested" note with your work. There's also fictionpress, com, which I find more reliable than Wattpad, yet not as reliable as CritiqueCircle. I've gotten good critiques on some stuff on there, not a ton though.
Hope that helps! :D

If you want publication, absolutely not. Never put it on any site that shows everything for search engine bots to find or you lose first-rights, so publishers won't take it, unless you're one of the freaky few who get hundreds of thousands of hits. (If you are one of those freaky few, then remove the story and self-publish to get more of the profit.)
Try Writing.com for real critiques.
If you decide to study how to write a good novel and then rework what you have to make it truly publishable, than you're ready for CrtiqueCircle.com.
Also, never get a beta tester, until you can trust the person to do the job well.

Someone could steal your work on Wattpad. Try making friends with other writers online and use them as beta readers whom you can trust.
Message me. I know a writer who would be interested in being a beta reader.

Ya definitely, I think that's a great idea. I hope to get published someday too and already have a couple of things on wattpad. Good luck:)

i think a free version on kindle would be better. nobody could steal it from there I would think. and you should publish it. depending on what its about, you could email it to me and I could read it. I love fantasy and am trying to get my own book started !
