Can we sue them for this?

We own a small business in Illinois & have been doing a large amount of work for a very large company. The office contact who we have been dealing with has now stated that if we don't give her money, we will get no more work from her (she is an office girl & doesn't not work in the corporate office which is in another state). We gave her 500.00 dollars cash 2 weeks ago, and now she just texted us that she wants more money next week. We didn't print a copy of her text for the initial conversation asking for money, but we did print the text for the conversation for more money this time. She is wanting more money this time and she is calling it her "commission". We feel that this is extortion and are sure that their corporate headquarters would be extremely upset over this. Do we have cause for a law suit?

Update:

I would like this girl yo of course be fired, but also be charged/prosecuted under whatever law she broke IE extortion , We are worried about loss of jobs from them if we do not pay.

Update 2:

Kemperk- we are worried we could lose tens of thousands of dollars of work if we don't pay her. We feel what she is doing is very wrong & want to see her fired & also possibly be arrested. We also do not want to lose this account because of her.

Who do you plan to sue? The girl? I doubt she has any money. Since you never notified corporate, they can't be held responsible for the acts of their employee outside her job duties.

Just contact corporate and tell them what's going on and ask for a refund of the $500.

I feel she is on the safe side of extortion---she said what she wanted. Unethical of course.

BUT what would have happened if you had not paid? I feel that you ONLY need to tell her

boss or the GM or the CEO of her actions and ask to be reimbursed for the first payment.
