Poll: Do you think women should take their young sons into the womens restroom?

If the boy is 5 or older, do you think a mom should take her son into the womens restroom or do you think that she should take him to the mens room? By that age they should be going in the mens room? What is your take on this? Thanks!

You don't have kids, do you, Hon? I don't trust ANY man I don't know around my kids. My son is seven(I also have an eleven year old daughter), and I take him into the restroom with me. He knows not to peek under doors or anything. I taught him that from a REALLY young age. At church(all the men there I grew up around or with) and if the museum or zoo is fairly quiet, of course I will let him go into the men's room. Any other time, like when we went to the beach last week, he came into the restroom with me.

    Anything could happen.

It is up to the parent. I won't be taking him in the restroom with me forever, and we use family restrooms where they are available, but I don't play where my kids' safety is concerned.

Edit: And I DEFINITELY will not leave him waiting outside the restroom alone. That's as bad as, if not worse than, letting him go to the bathroom by himself in a crowded and busy place.

In the UK the generally accepted age for children to use the appropriate restroom by themselves is 7 years old.

As the majority of mens restrooms do not open directly in to the toilet area where men can be seen using the urinals, it is not uncommon for a young boy to use the restroom while his mother maintains verbal communication through the main door. Personally I don't have a problem if a mum calls out that she is at the door watching out for her child.

I think that these are dangerous times and we need to protect the children. Since the ladies rooms have stalls I don't think up to age 7 is a problem and I encourage women do it.

It is better to pi$$ off some old bag you will never see again then let a child get molested or worse snatched. And that is my opinion.

    If I were young,

I'd be scared that my mom left me out there.

So I think she should take her son to the women's restroom.

I think I don't give a sh*t, because women's restrooms all have stalls, it's not like we're all peeing out in the open for anyone in the restroom to see. And I'd rather a kid watch me pee than an adult, kids don't judge, and they don't really care about nudity so I don't think it's bad for the kid or anything either. It's not going to warp his little mind, if that's what you're thinking.

I totally agree, but so many kids get abducted these days. I think the mom is just protecting her son. She can't go in the men's room.

Better than leaving the son waiting alone.

You have to look at the entire picture rather than just focusing on a small part.

At that age they can go to the restroom by themselves and she can stand out by the door.

Source(s): Unless the father is there then they can go together.
