Does an Active duty soldier receiving BAS receive PER DIEM when on a TDY status and meals ARE NOT provided?
Traveling to a course and meals are not provided and DFAC not available.
AS an active duty soldier in TDY for those two weeks, as I am already receiving BAS, do I still qualify for the PER DIEM?
@ MAJ Dev - probably because I just asked someone in the S3 and they told me I do not receive PER DIEM because I have BAS...and I am like, okay...I am pretty sure I received it in all my trips that meals are not prvided in my last 10 years...and 'Dude!' I was already on Yahoo answers and received a couple of quick answers from the community- so to each his own ;)
BTW - never heard of JFTRs and I am pretty sure I have heard of quite a few systems you have not heard of - so please mind the disdain. Thanks.

Dude - what I don't understand is why you are not asking your NCOs about this, and why you can not look this up in the JFTR?
As Wine, Wine says: Per Diem and BAS have nothing to do with each other.
That said, even if you lost BAS while you were on Per Diem, it would essentially be a zero-sum gain or loss.
EDIT: somehow I think that in my 29 years of total Service, most of it spooky, I might have you on the 'systems' knowledge in your 10 years, but I digress.
The JFTR, or Joint Federal Travel Regulation, is the regulation that covers all aspects of military pay and travel, to include rules for BAS and Per Diem. Volume 1 is the part that covers our kind of stuff. Volume 2 covers more esoteric contract type stuff and things that do not effect the Servicemember or Federal Civilian. I am surprised that you have been in 10 years and do not know of the JFTR and that it is easily downloaded and is the go-to place for official answers. It is easy to understand and includes numerous examples of scenarios - to include what you are asking about.
I strongly encourage you to become conversant with those chapters that effect you - I have challenged several pay and disbursing clerks over the years about what they thought they knew verses what the JFTR said - all challenges that resulted in more money in my pocket. It pays to be educated.

Yes you do. I am national guard and when staying off base for annual training we get both per diem and bas. However if we are staying on base if lodging is available, then we get bas and only get 75% of the full per diem rate for the first and last of travel and everything in between in $0 and we still have to pay for our meals. Most ridiculous thing ever.

Yes...per diem has nothing to do with BAS
I am on TDY about 4-5 months per year (and have been the last 10 years or so) on BAS and always receive per diem
