Temporary hold for ebay buyer dispute?

I sold something on ebay and the customer wanted a refund. Paypal put a hold on the money and after some dialog we reached an agreement and I refunded the buyer through ebay. The money came out my paypal account but I've never got the original money that Paypal put on hold back. So in short, how'd I get it back or if anyone has had a similar problem, how long does it take.
