twice I have found my outdoor spigot to be stuffed with small green leaves. Do you have any clues?

The first time this happened was 5 years ago and was 300 miles away. (We have since moved.) I suspect some sort of solitary wasp trying to make a nest, but I sure would like to know. It is fascinating.

Update:

Thanks, not children in either location. I can't imagine even a humming bird trying to make a nest in a spigot, but am thinking something in the insect world that makes nests.

The same thing happened to my hand sprayer a few years ago. I saw a wasp flying in the end then leaving. When I looked there was grass, small leaves etc. on the inside. I used a long pair of of tweezers to remove what was inside and I also found small red pellets which I'm guessing were eggs. The strange part was when I connected the sprayer to the hose and turned it on the water pressure blew out another wasp which was still able to fly.

It could be a small bird or wasp but do you have any young children around? That is definitely something a young child would do too.
