You are not too old to begin pointe work. On average, the feet are fully ossified in females at age 14, so age should not be a problem for you in terms of growth plate issues. That being said, you still need sufficient technical and physical strength before beginning pointe work. Technique-wise, you need overall sound technique on flat, which includes proper use of and control of turnout, the ability to not sickle or wing when en relevé, and the ability to control and maintain proper posture and alignment. You need strong and flexible feet and ankles, strong legs, and strong core muscles (torso/pelvis). In order to develop the necessary technical and physical strength, it is recommended that you are taking at least three ballet technique classes (each lasting 90 minutes) for at least three years before beginning pointe work.

Of course it's not too late to do pointe! There is no upper age limit on pointe, the only age limit is the lower age limit, which varies from 10-13, depending on the studio.

If you're 15, you don't have to worry. That's the age I started pointe, and I know people who have started even later.

I read an article last week about a woman who started ballet at 35 and was en pointe at 40.

the answer is definitely not you can go en pointe as long as you are strong enough, your feet are fully developed, and your teacher is allowing you to. So not a problem.
